Tropico ~ A Pirate's Dive!
| More Pieces Of Eight |
| Pieces of eight were actually Spanish silver eight "reales" coins. The gold coins were called "escudos." These had the Spanish coat of arms on one side and two columns depicting the Pillars of Hercules (symbolizing the Straits of Gibraltar) on the other. It is thought that the twin pillars became such a recognized symbol for money that the modern dollar sign evolved from it. |

After recent negotiations we have aquired 1 more lot. This lengthens Tropico's beach to the north. This new addition to Tropico's Beach is coral free and will serve as the marina. The project will begin in march of 2009 with the addition of the southern Sea-Wall. This particular Sea-Wall will serve as the property line and the base for Tropico's foreshore reclaimation project. Once the souther Sea-Wall has been completed work will immeadiately begin on the northern Sea-Wall. After these are complete construction of the resorts "J" wall and landfill can begin. The "J" wall and landfill will comsume 250 feet of the beachs length. From this point further north is the newly aquired property . Coral free this will serve as Tropico's marina with the final Sea-Wall at the new northern property line. |
